SUBWAY!!!!
Its been a while since I have posted, that's because I have been traveling the world researching potential blog post topics. So today I finally had an interesting enough day to write about. I had the privilege of receiving an educational Subway restaurant tour, compliments of Manny. The tour started with staff introductions that took place in the office/storage area. Immediately, after meeting the oldest sandwich artist who was well into his 50's, I felt as if I had entered a Ripley's believe it or not museum. This particular staff member looked as if he was not a day over 30!!! For reference sake this staff members ethnicity is Filipino. After introductions the tour lead to the walk-in refrigerator. I had never seen so many Jalapenos and mounds of mayonnaise in my life! Continuing on, my friendly tour guide, Manny, gave me special permission to go... BEHIND THE COUNTER!!!! This is where untold secrets began to unfold. I saw instructions on how to make each sandwich on the menu. This whole time I thought Subway sandwich artists knew by heart exactly which ingredient went on each different sandwich. For the first time I knew what it felt like to be on the other side of the counter. Things are different when a sneeze guard isn't present on your side. The other side of the counter experience was liberating but yet I felt anxiety being in a place that I had never been to before. The aroma of the sandwich toppings was much more prevalent on the other side than the customer side. Manny concluded the tour with the cash register exhibit, this is where I learned how easy the computer system is to use. At the end of the tour my senses were pleasantly aroused by the aroma of fresh bread and the sight of a mouth watering submarine sandwich display on the counter. There was only one last thing left to do... order a sandwich!
All in all this was a wonderful experience i received a tour, sandwich, CHERRY coke, chips, AND kids pak toys for the special cousin promotion price of FREE NINETY NINE!!!! To those of you who haven't had the privilege of a special Subway restaurant tour I highly suggest you make more than nice with Manny and give him a visit. Try to do your visits so its one cousin per month, we don't want Manny going out of business now.
Thank you G for the memorable tour package, I learned a lot today.
YAY 4 SUBWAY!!!

what were you doing when the earthquake hit at 8:04pm tuesday?
hey i just wanted to make sure that everyone is ok and thank god this thing was not so serious... i was mostly concerned about Mama Ji and Mami ji's place when I found out that it was centered in the Alum rock area.... it was so wierd that whoever i tried to call the phones did not go through. i personally did no feel it cause I was on the soccer field playing soccer with the kids, but I heard a rumbling sound and i thought someone must have started a generator or something but then someone shouted to get away from the lights cause the light poles were swinging back and forth...Harpreet called from home all freaked out cause she said the house shook like crazy and lasted good 15 seconds...baua said he was watching a movie and thought it was the effects of the movie and his home theater sound.....

Can Milpitas Water Kill you???
Caution!!! This is not the usual blog entry!
OK for me Milpitas water isn't exactly killing me, but it is emotionally and physically taking a toll on my well being and health!! I am not sure if any of you guys have been experiencing symptoms related to chloramine in our water. Chloramine is a combination of chlorine and ammonia. Chloramine came into our pristine Hetch Hetchy water supply in spring 2004 when the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) decided that chlorine, the disinfectant that had protected municipal water for many years, wasn't good enough any more. I have shaved my legs in milpitas symptom free for many years before spring 2004. Ever since spring 2004 my symptoms have included extremely itchy legs after shaving, ingrown hairs, and an intense burning sensation on my legs after shaving everytime! The itch is so bad that I will plan vacations so that i can shave in another area where hetch hetchy is not the water supply, hence my trip to Reno included a Friday night stay. Chloramine is really dangerous if inhaled as well, this is of concern especially when we are taking a nice hot shower when vapors are released into the steam. Symptoms related to chloramine go beyond dermatological issues. Chloramine can also induce respiratory problems, digestive tract problems and can aggravate problems concerning the immune system. I can go on and on about the dangers of chloramine but I wont and if you guys want more information about chloramine in our waters refer to chloramine.org. The chloramine website has a lot of useful information on chloramine, symptoms, dangers, public policy, etc... Fortunately, there are other people in our community that are concerned about chloramine in out water, there is a non-profit organization that's trying to change public policy so that chloramine will be tested and taken out of our water. The name of this organization is Citizens Concerned About Chloramine (CCAC). So i recently wrote to them and I have included there response to my letter. I was hoping you guys can also help me as well as yourselves by writing to our congressman Mike Honda. So please if any of you guys are experiencing symptoms from chloramine write to congressman Mike Honda. My legs and I will greatly appreciate any assistance or support you guys can provide. To those of you guys who actually read my post thanks for taking the time to read it!
Hi Sukhdeep,
Thanks for contacting us. Unfortunately, I have to tell you that there are no filters that will work in the shower. There are some sink filters that will remove most of the chloramine for a while, but the people we are hearing from say that the filters must be changed before their recommended replacement date and some people even abandon the filter as not worth the expense. The National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) has a website that lists filters they have tested, so you can look there to see if there is a filter that would work for you.
For your legs, there are a couple of things to try. First is to rinse them with bottled spring water after you shave. This will rinse off the chloramine residue. Another thing is to dry off really good to get as much chloramine off as possible, then use 'Aveeno Baby' fragrance free Daily Moisture Lotion. It comes in a big tube ans can be found in the baby isle of the supermarket.
You mention that you are considering moving. Most of us have thought about that too, but to where? The EPA , who mandated the reduction of certain disinfection byproducts (DBPs) of chlorine, has given water districts several more years to lower their DBPs. Therefore we don't know which areas will be switching to chloramine in the next few years.
Something positive you can do is to write a letter to your local newspaper, telling your story and referring readers with similar symptoms to our website. Next, please write to your California Assembly member Alberto Torrico, 20th Assembly District, 39510 Paseo Padre Parkway, Suite 280, Fremont, CA 94538, Federal Congressman Mike Honda, 1999 South Bascom Ave., Suite 815, Campbell, CA 95008, and to our state senators; Barbara Boxer, 1700 Montgomery St., Suite 240, San Francisco, CA 94111, and Dianne Feinstein, One Post St., Suite 2450, San Francisco, CA 94104.
The only way to be free from your symptoms is to convince our lawmakers to remove chloramine from our water and replace it with a tested alternative. Citizens Concerned About Chloramine (CCAC)has recently met with Congressman Honda, so a letter to him would be especially effective.
If you would like more information, you can call our president, Denise Johnson-Kula or send me your phone number and she will call you.
Thank you for your support.
Take Care,
Linda Corwin, Vice President, CCAC

how bad are the niners? suggestion box is open
I am not wasting my time on sundays watching this crap on tv...i was going to buy new tv to watch nfl but i guess i dont need to now... niners need to get rid of nolan and offensive cordinator and bring back some retired qb to take over. tell jerry rice to come back from retirement and joe montana or steve young to come back and hopefully we can win some games...all the players are bunch of slow ass losers...the only good thing about this season is that i don't have to hear about from the raider fans cause they are just as bad....f da niners.and raiders.....go sharks and ...go lakers...

Mangna & Reno wedding
My mangna/mangnee is THIS SATURDAY at my house. The Keertin will start at 10AM, and the mangna will start at 11:30am. Shamsher Mama-Ji has a flight at 2pm, so everything must finish on time for him to make his flight. This is a morning event only; nothing is scheduled for Saturday evening. If you plan on attending, don't be late.
The wedding will be in April or May, and we're still trying to finalize the dates for that.
We're going to get the legal marriage out of the way next weekend:
Date: Saturday, Oct 20th.
Time: 3PM
Loc: Chapel of the Sierra (inside the Circus Circus)
For the Reno event, most of us are driving up on Saturday morning. We'll be staying at the Silver Legacy. Room rates through their website are $109.99 plus tax ($124 total). Circus Circus rates are about the same. If you find better rates for those 2 hotels, let us know.
Anyway, we'll be staying Saturday night and driving back Sunday afternoon.
Post your comments here about carpooling and room sharing.
Hope to see you all there.

I think I dreamed about that because I went to the Giants game yesterday and my friends were listening to Michael Jackson on their Ipod and dancing like MJ. har har...

Barack in Milpitas!
Hey Yall,
So as some of you may know, I got to hear Barack speak last week in SF. (AND shake his hand along with a paparazzi shot!) :D Anyways-- he was a pretty good speaker. A lot of his position on issues align with me. I just wanted to encourage all of you to go out and see him speak too! My friend forwarded me an email that said Barack will be at this event in Milpitas. Even if you're not sure if you can go, you should register now because hey, its FREE! I am going to e-mail/call the conference people to see if he is coming for sure. because the website says that he's invited and not straight up attending. (which usually means he might not come). If you don't have anything better to do...check it out! the link is below! even if he is not there i think its a good way to learn about issues affecting us so go out and get informed!
The event is a conference with the keynote speaker being Barack Obama. This conference is free if you RSVP by September 20. It will be on October 6 at the India Community Center in Milpitas. You can now register online: www.indoamericancouncil.org.
let me know if you register!

PP's Birthday Bash at Vivid in SJ (Corrected)
Hey Guys! PP wanted me to let you know his friend is throwing him a b-day bash at Vivid (Downtown San Jose) this Thursday (Aug. 30). Please let PP know of all the people that are going so he can put you on the guestlist. Everyone will have to be in by 10pm. If enough people go, from 10 to 11pm there MAY be free bottle service and BEFORE 11pm ALL drinks are only $2, including TOP SHELF!!!! It's a great way to get wasted for cheap. Sorry 21 and over only.
Also, we'll probably be eating at Sonoma Chicken Coop. Let's try to meet there about 8:45pm. That gives us about 1 hour to eat and walk over to the party. Remember, you MUST be there by 10PM to get this deal.

Family Picnic
Ok people, let's get the show on the road. It turns out that Cardoza is favored just a bit more than Ed R Levin. I voted for Cardoza, but as Sukhdeep pointed out, we might have a privacy issue there. Parents, Aunts, & Uncles can easily show up to check up on us. We shouldn't have that problem at Ed R Levin.
The only drawback I see with Ed R Levin is the duck poop and lack of softball field. As for the duck poop, it wasn't as bad as in the past, unless you plan to roll/fall in the grass. For softball, we'd have to wing it.
I still prefer Cardoza, but I'm open to Ed R Levin. I really don't care... let's just get it started.
The next big question is when. Coming up, we have Sunday 8/19, Saturday 8/25, Sunday 8/26, Saturday 9/1, Sunday 9/2, or Monday 9/3 (Labor Day). Let's pick a date.
Please post a comment with the dates that you CAN or CANNOT make it.
This is your only chance to request your dates. We will pick a date by Sunday, so comment now, or forever hold your peace.

The Lucky Adventures of Sat and Harmeet....
So, Sat and I enjoyed the 49ers pre-season game last night. The Niners lost 17-14, but it was pre-season! Anywho, Satty picks me up from work a little before 4pm. Satty was supposed to pick up a luxury parking pass from some guy he found on craigslist named Ryan. Ryan calls and asks where we are and we tell him 101 and that it'll probably take about 30/40 minutes. We are driving along 101N and we listen to the traffic report and realize it will take us forever on 101. We jump on to 84 and cross over to 280 and just fly through. Once we cross back over on to 101, Ryan calls and says he dropped off the pass at the parking lot to a guy named Orlando. Satty was like "Ok, cool, so do I pay Orlando?" The guy must have said no and then Satty asked, "Well, how do I pay you?" The guy said not to worry about it. We were psyched. FREE LUXURY PARKING!! Then we were like how are we going to find this Orlando guy. We probably will end up paying for parking. So, we get to Monster Park and start cruising by the parking gates. We are about to pass the first one and Satty just calls out the window, "Hey Man, are you Orlando?" The guy was like YES. So, Orlando gives us the pass and we get free parking.
The game was cool. I would say the offense looks good, the defense is questionable.
We ate turkey burgers which were really good. Thicky meaty patties and they were only $6.00!!!!
So, I stood in line for 10 years to get drinks. It seriously probably took me an hour. I get to the front of the line and realize they don't take credit card (even though the sign above said it did). So, I order one beer and a jumbo soda. The lady pours the drinks and puts them infront of me and says, you also ordered a hot dog. I said NO! Even though I would have ordered garlic fries if they took Credit Card. Then she charges me for $6.00 for the drink and I get all happy. Because she forgets about charging me for the beer. I hand her a $20 and then she rememebered and gives me $1 back. I'm like I gave you a $20, and then she looks around and says this must be yours also and gives me the correct change back. I thought our luck was going to continue and we were going to get a free beer but I guess our luck had to run out.
It got helllllllla cold in the park after the beer. I felt like I was in Brett Favre weather. I thought my dinky sweatshirt was going to keep me warm but thank goodness Satty ALWAYS comes prepared... He saved the day, once again!
It took us 10 years to get out of the parking lot because people are idiots but we did it. Overall, it was a cool experience. We should try making it a big family event one day.

Thai Food
I was browsing Yelp and noticed this Thai Temple that offers authentic Thai food on Sundays for cheap. Seems like a cool setup. You walk in and exchange your cash for $1 tokens. Then you walk out to the back and use your tokens to buy food at different stations, ranging from $1 - $5. Find a table if you can or sit on the grass and chow down.
Let me know if anyone is interested in trying it out. It's only on Sundays at lunch!

I <3 NY!
So, I thought I'd finally write about my trip to NY. I really do <3 NY.
As I posted earlier. DC was cool. Did the whole siteseeing thing. It was really clean. I saw the Declaration of Independence and it's fading. All of the signatures are already gone. Went to a gazillion free museums.. The weather was HOT!!
And now to NY. It was a blast. And soooo much fun. I think it's a place that you have to live for a few years to actually experience everything it has to offer. We tried different types of foods, went siteseeing, shopping and saw a broadway show. We saw The Color Purple with Fantasia from American Idol. It was so good. Fantasia blew me away with her voice!! I love riding the subway and not having to worry about driving or parking. It was great!! There is soooo much walking. I would get really tired in DC from all the walking but by the time I got to NY I was a pro. By the way, people in NY do not like slow walkers. You'll get pushed at, cussed at and they'll give you dirty looks. They also don't have the patience for indecisive people. Make up your mind and move on. I'd love to go to NY on a yearly basis. I really miss it... :( haha.. I've never felt that strongly about a place.. HAHA... The weather was cool. It was hot towards the end. It rained really hard on the first and last day for about 15 minutes and then cleared up. Other than that, it wasn't bad at all..
Oh I didn't mention earlier, in DC I kept getting really dizzy. Too the point where I felt I was standing on a boat when I was standing still on flat ground. When I got to NY, I was so fed up with it, since it had been a few days. I was so scared that I'd faint and end up in the hospital and my family would have to come all the way out to DC. Anyhow, I called Kamal. I'm so glad she's a doctor!! And she said I had a classic case of Vertigo. She told me to pick up some OTC medication and it should help relieve the symptoms. Anyhow, after I took the medication I was much better and was able to enjoy my trip.
Ohhh.. and in DC I went to this Bodies Exhibition. They had it in SF for a while. Anyhow, it's real life bodies that have been preserved and you can see every single muscle, artery and organ. Satty, I saw the gallbladder and I was like this little dinky thing gave Satty all those problems.. It was so cool to see. I saw little tiny fetuses at different weeks of gestation.
And in NY, I ate at White Castle.. Seriously, nothing beats In-N-Out. It was like McDonald's hamburgers/cheeseburgers. You can get 100 burgers for $53. They actually have that on the menu.

Bubblin in Dublin.
Hey guys!
I miss you guys! and I miss the US! I feel like Joey on Friends when he goes to London.. I miss the US where everyone knows my name. haha. anyways...
its pretty fun here. we're staying at Trinity College ands its GORGEOUS! check out some pics below.

i've been to a bunch of pubs already and drank lots of guiness. We did this one thing one night called the pub crawl. And basically we take this thing called DART (equivalent of our BART) and we went to the very last station. Then we take the DART back towards our original stop but we stop at each station along the way and go to a pub. So we drank 1 beer/drink at each stop. THere were about 8 stops or so and we had 15-20min at each to finish our drink. It was awesome. About 4 guys in our group were dumbasses and actually walked across the rail tracks to get to the other side. the Guarda (AKA police) stopped them and we all left them (our social host told us to go and said they'll catch up with us)..i think they are just gonna get fined.
we took a weekend trip to Belfast which is in NOthern Ireland. It was pretty cool. The shopping was really cheap there. And there was a festival going on so we got to see a parade, we met the lord mayor, we got free food from countries around the world (india, philipines, china, latvia, poland, ireland, jamaica) and we got free mehndi on our hands. it was really fun. But we stayed in a hostel! SO WEIRD! it was supposedly a nice hostel but hostels are jsut yucky. anyways.
so yeah so far i'm having fun..the only part that sucks is that it rains sooo much here and Dublin is soo expensive. but i'm looking forward to the Guiness factory tour! :D haha. kay see ya soon...i'll be back July 8th!

FREE AT LAST! FREE AT LAST!!
So I thought this day would never come. I thought I was going to be pursuing my bachelors for the rest of my life! I am finally done! I just took the last final of my life an hour ago. I am feeling pretty euphoric right now even though I am running on 2 hours or less of sleep. Things to do today: 1. college, oh wait thats DONE!!! Thinking back to all the academic hardships i have experienced they were totally worth it, I have come a long way. I just wish that my elementary and high school teachers could see me now. All the detentions, referalls, suspensions, pink slips, etc... dont mean anything, anymore. I am going to go and enjoy my few moments of not having to stress about anything for the time being. I will be getting drunk tomorrow incase anyone is wondering.
your most anticipated college grad,

History in the making!!!
Disclaimer: this is a once in a lifetime event you don't want to miss!!
Hi everyone,
Okay, as most of you know I am graduating from UC Davis this spring 2007. (Not a moment too soon) My actual graduation date is June 17th, unfortunately, I only have a limited number of tickets for that ceremony. However, I am also participating in the South Asian Middle Eastern (S.A.M.E.) ceremony and an unlimited number of guests can attend this ceremony. I would love for all of you guys to attend since this is a major milestone event in my academic career. The S.A.M.E. ceremony is on Friday, June 15, 2007 at 5:30pm to 8:00pm. For those of you who are working on that Friday or plan to be sick, I will understand if you can not make it; only if you bring a note from your employer stating you are scheduled to work for that day or if you guys can submit a doctors note (I will not accept any doctors notes that are signed off by Kamal). Relax, I am not going to be that strict about it. For those of you who are still interested in attending I suggest you guys carpool because northbound 680 and 80 traffic on Friday is brutal! Do plan to leave around 2:00pm in order to beat traffic if you are coming from Milpitas/San Jose. My parents will be attending the S.A.M.E. ceremony so maybe they may have room but I am planning on having Jasmine and Rajveer carpool with them in case G or Bob can't make it. If you guys have any further questions give me a call or email me. It will mean a lot to me if any and hopefully all of you guys attend. Everyone please make an effort to attend!

Mubarak 2007
June 15, 2007 at Freeborn Hall 5:30pm to 8:00pm
P.S. for those of you who need extra convincing, there is an Indian casino (thunder valley) nearby so maybe we can go there after.
Motivation for those of you who are still working on your undergrad: I am living proof anyone can graduate and acquire a bachelors degree. So come to my graduation and see history in the making!!!

LA-LA land
Me, harjot, sukhdeep, randeep and harmeet went to LA this past memorial day weekend. So first we had difficulties at the car rental place. we were there for like 2 hours or something just trying to get a full size car that didn't have a flat tire! the guy working there was being a jerk and tried to make us take the flat tire car. but we didn't wanna go all the way to LA in that car plus the punjabi uncle in the parking lot kept motivating us to go back and get a better car for the same rate. Finally, we got a car from another guy that works there...we got a Monte Carlo I believe...and it was AWESOME! It was this big white car thatl ooks like a cop car that old people drive. It was a six seater-- three people can sit in the front. Anyways we drove all the way to LA and didn't get there until about 5am-ish. When we got to our hotel the guy said he didn't have our reservations but we had our confirmation number but the hotel was booked so he had to walk us to another hotel for FREE! so our first two nights were paid for-- well...get reimbursed. The next day we went to this sushi restaurant in beverly hills and then later to this bar in manhanttan beach on the pier. it was a lot of goreh.
next day we went to the grove and the farmer's market there. the farmer's market was soo good. We saw Debra Wilson (the black actress from Mad TV) eating at this restaurant and then we followed her into Nordstroms so Harmeet and Bidu could see her..lol. Then, we went to long beach and stayed at the hyatt-- which was gorgeous. at one point, me, randeep and harmeet drove around long beach but we all sat in the front with no one in th eback. people kept looking at us like we were crazy and they kept laughing. at one point these guys were liek yall gonna get a ticket! that night we went to the ucla bruin bhangra show after party on the queen mary. it was pretty whack. then afterwards tehre was a royal rumble at the hotel room...errr. yeah. the way back was pretty fun because we did karokee/concert the whole way home! :D

Family Beach Bash 2007
Get your shorts & sun-screen ready, because the 2007 Family Beach Bash is coming soon to a beach near you.
Date: TBD. Preferably a nice hot Saturday.
Time: Start around 11:30 am and extending into the evening.
Activities: Boogie Boarding, Football, Bonfire, Relax, Picnic/BBQ.
Location: Poplar Beach, Half Moon Bay
It's a pretty clean beach with good waves for boarding. There are also restroom & coin-operated HOT showers just 1/2 mile north, at Francis Beach. John, Ruby, and I went there last year, and it's a great beach. The boogie boarding was a lot of fun. It's actually quite shallow for like 50 feet out. The beach umbrellas really helped. We were able to relax under them without getting dark or sunburned. It was very relaxing.
I was thinking we can do a potluck style picnic/BBQ, along with side activities: boogie boarding, swimming, football, frisbee, sun-tanning, relaxing under the umbrella or canopy, and bonfire later in the day. Tell me what you guys think about all this!
Some items to consider:
Food, Drinks, Small Grill
Chairs, Beach Umbrellas, Canopy, Radio
Beach Towels, Swim clothes, Dry Clothes
Wet Suit (really helps keep you warm in the water)
Football, Frisbee, Boogie Boards
Wood for bonfire
Add more stuff as you see fit.

what happened to the warriors?
after 13 years a team makes to the playoffs and everyone starts wearing some ugly i believe shirts and what they got a classic meltdown by bunch of idiots who cant control their emotions...i have admit i was starting to believe somewhat but after watching the last game never ever will believe again....dirty team don't deserve to go on in the playoffs.......go lakers here is my predictions for new laker players next year...only if the management decides to go shopping......we will get at least two from this list and add them with kobe you got 50 plus wins and chance to make some noise in the playoffs.....Jason Kidd, kevin Garnett,Jermaine O'Neal, Gasol,Bibby, ron artest, grant hill, shaun marion.
rules of being a Lakers fan. These rules must be followed to the fullest extent or you risk being ridiculed by the general Laker public and being called a troll or a fan of another ball club:
1. You MUST hate Dwyane Wade, Shaq and Miami heat. Not under any circumstances are you to give the props to that team or any players on it. also must hate the kings and all the players on that team.
2. Calling Phoenix Suns garbage is MANDATORY! Steve Nash is not deserving of being MVP and we must make that known by starting as many threads about how much the Suns suck as possible.
3. Kobe Bryant is the king of the world and the greatest thing since the sliced bread. Anyone saying otherwise is a hater and not a Laker fan.
4. The reason Lakers did not win a championship this year lyes in Smush Parker. It was all his fault. He is the reason that Lakers play no D. He is the reason that they cant make a shot in the 4th quarter. Hell, he is the reason for the high gas prices. BLAME SMUSH!
5. Lebron James is to be refereed to as LeChoker. He is not on Kobe's level and Cavs are garbage. Anyone saying otherwise is showing their true colors and will not be considered a Lakers fan.
6. You MUST believe that Jason Kidd, kevin Garnett and Jermaine O'Neal will be playing in the Laker uniform next season together with Kobe, odom and Bynum. Claiming otherwise means that you do not want this team to succeed and do not support the Lakers.
7. Lakers management is to blame for the current status of the Lakers franchise. After all, they did hire Smush Parker.

Latest Comments/Privacy Poll, please vote
Ok family, I can set this thing up so that all the latest comments show up on one page, but we have to make this thing public in order for that to work. Check out the comments page from my blog to see how that will look. We can mess with it to make it look better... that's just the default formatting.
But before I waste any time on that, I need to know if majority are interested in making it easier to see comments at the expense of privacy.
In my opinion, we haven't really posted anything real private on here, so I don't see the harm in making it public.... it's not like people are dying to get in here to find our deepest, darkest secrets, but that's just my 2¢.

Is there any way we can change this blog into a forum. This question came to me because I wanted to comment on Mandeep finishing up with her session of school next week. I'll look into something if anyone of yall think FORUMISH is better than BLOGAGE.

UPDATE by Sat:
If we're going to switch to or add a forum, we need to decide which forum hosting software to use. This Forum Blog has some information on a few possibilities. Check them out and tell us if you have a preference.

procrastination
i dont want to study right now, and luckily we have this blog for us to waste our time on haha. and i mean that in the best way possible. so imma talk to all of you.
Sat: i know how it feels to be indecisive, i sometimes have to literally flip coin over what to eat for lunch. i can help you if you are picking between two things and one is obviously ugly haha but other than that i am no help.
Mandeep: congrats on almost finishing your first year of law school!
Sukhdeep: get your butt checked (i commented on your disease post)
Harjot: set up a forum bc i always comment on old blogs and i dont know if everyone sees them. sorry about the m it will be missed.
Seema: youre so cute. can i pinch you?
Harmeet: im tempted to come bother you right now bc i dont want to study
Kulvir: i cant believe you were there to see that dunk live, and stay home!
Shana: i have the usual message for you...pindu loves you and wants to marry you, dont worry pay no attention to this.
Gagan: i commend you on continueing to eat chipotle with HOT sauce despite the after effects if you know what i mean...
Bob: oh my god! lets go shopping!
G: i like that you are the charles barkley of our family and you insist on wearing the Lakers jersey the day after the warriors won their first series. JUST BELIEVE ALREADY!

Stress
I'm soooo stressed out... I can't figure out what color to paint the house, I can't pick the tiles I want to use, I can't decide what kind of plants I want to plant, I can't seem to get home to a clean house, I can't get around to ordering the fireplace, I can't figure out what to do about my dad, I can't seem to have time to relax... and don't even get me started on planning the wedding. I'm such a slow decision maker... it sucks!
F&ck, I can't even drink!

Name Change?
I think the blog name should be changed to the Harmeet Sat and Bidoo blog! I know all of you guys have interesting daily stories. Start posting! To motivate you guys i will tell you all whats my concern for today. So this morning I woke up with a red spot on the white part of my eye I am not one of the people that gets these sort of things so i freaked out. So right now before i call my advice nurse, Suzy again I figured i probably popped a blood vessel while I was straining to pass some stools. This brings me to my second symptom I have been constipated for 1 week now. However, I did call the advice nurse about this one and she told me to take Metamucil so i can be regular again. Now i am thinking regular in a mental sense or regular in stool consistency. Either way i need all the regular i can get. So the third symptom i have is i swear i noticed whiteness and enlarged taste buds in the back of my tongue. So like normal i consulted WebMD (this is sometimes better than he advice nurse). I don't think its thrush (yeast infection in my mouth...ewwwww). Okay i know i am a hypochondriac so all of you go to the mirror check out the back of your and report back to the blog ASAP. its a matter of life and DEATH! Then the other day Monday morning to be exact i felt extremely nauseous on my drive to Davis (no it isn't morning sickness!) i kept trying to hold it in so i wouldn't be late for class and I actually felt better after i had some 7up when i got to school. I also have tummy aches which may be related to the constipation but i don't think so! now the last and hopefully the final symptom is shortness of breath and feeling fatigued...however, this may be related to walking up 2 flights of stairs since that's the only time i experience this and due to lack of exercise but i don't believe in exercise its so unnatural. Do we read in history books about cavemen running on the treadmill??? Yeah i didn't think so. So move over sat because its time we get the limelight on me. So i think i have this weird new disease that doctors don't even know of yet the symptoms include red eye, constipation, pain in the lower abdomen, fatigue, shortness of breath, cancer on the tongue and nausea. Now you guys must post and make me feel better and let me know what you guys think it is.

Niners Game
This doesn't apply to Satty, who is all cool with his season tickets...

The coolest thing...
So today I had a few drinks with Amrit and Simran. Some of you guys might be wondering how this was possible because Simran is in New york. The reason this was possible was because while I was talking on the phone with Simran, she suggested I should have a glass of wine with her. i refused because I only had BEER, so i had to settle with corona. So we both simultaneously opened our bottles and gave each other a toast and drank. Then after 1 beer for me and 1 glass of wine for simran we decided we should invite amrit to our get together. So i took the initiative and 3-wayed amrit and luckly amrit was free for the evening and happened to have a bottle of wine handy. So me and simran were on our second drink at this point and we waited for amrit to pour herself some wine then we did our traditional toast and drank. to say the least great conversations flowed after that. I just got off the phone with them now after a 3 hour get together that took place in Davis, ca; Milpitas, ca; and New York, ny. This type of get together leaves no room for drunk dialing! I highly recomend the phone bar!!!

Sat's Health Update
Just to remind you, I was initially having a lot of pain from inflammation of the gallbladder and bile ducts. (The liver makes bile, and it sends it to the gallbladder for storage via the bile duct, and the bile duct also carries it to the stomach for digesting fats).
Anyway, they couldn't figure out why my gallbladder was swelling up and causing me pain. All their tests showed no gallstones, so they decided to look at it from the inside with a camera. For some reason, they couldn't get to the gallbladder, but instead pissed off the pancreas. That lead to pancreatitis and 3 days in the hospital.
Last week, I had an MRI of the gallbladder and bile ducts, and I followed up with the specialist today. He said that the MRI looks completely normal, and the blood tests supported that finding. All my blood tests are normal now. My liver numbers are especially good. He said they're the best they've ever been. So that's the good news.
The bad news is that we still don't know what was really causing the initial inflammation. The only thing we know is that there definitely was a problem. After the scope, when I got the pancreatitis, I threw up a lot of bile. And it's possible that whatever was blocking the bile ducts cleared out of my system at that time. We might not ever know for sure, but I am feeling much better and gaining my weight back (135 today). I've been eating really health and it seems to be helping so far. For now, I'm going to continue eating healthy and the doc said I can have some good fats in moderation (olive oil for cooking, fish, avocado, etc) along with regular exercise. But no alcohol for now (sorry Bid). I can live with that!

Hey Ms kitty kat!
Hey Boys, girls, and martians, so while i was driving back from LA a couple of weeks ago I came up with a bright idea. While listening to all kinds of songs during the 6 hour drive I couldnt help but think of certain people while listening to particular songs. So from now on i am going to post the song with the name of the person whom I think should have that song be their theme song say if they were entering a wrestling ring or whatever. you guys feel free to think of some songs to dedicate as theme songs for individuals as well. to inspire some of you i have included a fun little song that inspired me.

An Exception!
Ok boys and girls I found a loop hole to the daily shower rule. I think its so annoying to shower everyday, you're going to get dirty anyways so whats the point. However, i have discovered a short cut in life, one shower can equal two showers! Ok so heres the secret, shower at midnight every other day and since you are showering at midnight you have that days showering covered as well as the next days showering. Now lets put this theory into practice, say its friday so at midnight you are in the shower and you get done say 1230am saturday morning and your friends or family ask you on saturday after noon "so did you shower today?" and you can most definitely respond with a "YES!" Now the magical part of this theory is when your friends or family continue further by asking "but did you shower yesterday?" and yes folks you can give them a big honest "YES!" for that question as well. You feel clean before going to bed and you feel accomplished and the best part is when you wake up you still feel clean. I am definitely going to implement this theory into my lifestyle, i can wake up every morning knowing that one thing is done on the "to do list". Any suggestions or insights regarding my theory please feel free to contribute.

I'm back
Thank you everyone for all your kind comments and support. And thanks for the phone calls and visits. I was pretty out of it the 1st day, but I was able to enjoy your company once the drugs wore off. And I especially owe Seema for spending 2 grueling nights in a chair by my bedside. Everytime the poor girl would finally doze off a bit, I'd wake her for something.
Anyway, I'm officially back, for now. They're still trying to figure out the main problem, so I have an MRI scheduled for Wednesday (zero risk with that one, so don't worry).
I probably won't get a chance to write much until I get back to work on Monday or Tuesday, but I just wanted to send out a big "THANKS to Everyone!"
Btw, I lost a lot of weight. I was at 128 this morning, and I haven't been that weight in almost 20 years... I got a lot of gaining to do. Anyone need a new diet plan? Maybe I should come up with the Pancreatitis or Gallbladder diet? I'll write more next week.

SLOSHBALL!
so yesterday some people at our sschool put on a game called sloshball. i was unable to go but i went last time and its super fun and i think we would have fun playing this! its basically kickball (or you can play softball too..but i think thats harder) but there's BEER involved! at the 2nd base there is a keg or a bucket of beers. and in order to continue running after 2nd base you have to chug all of your beer to move on. oh and if theres ever any arguments about an out or something...you have a chug off and whoever finishes their beer first wins the argument. fun eh!? SLOSHHH BALLL!!! it only really works with a lot of people...we should do it for the summer

Breakfast Adventures
Yesterday my co-worker and I went to go get bagels for breakfast from next door. We were waiting for this guy infront of us to order but he just kept pointing at the pastries. The owner was confused and didn't know what he was pointing to. My co-worker asked him if he wanted the apple turnover or rasberry one and he still pointed. Finally, my co-worker asked, "rojo," thinking he didn't speak english. And he responds all sarcastically, "yes, red."

Wisdom?
So for your reading pleasure i want to share my anxiety of getting my wisdom teeth pulled tomorrow. First of all my doctor is just soemthing really special. During my consulatation appointment in December he was a real advocate for drugs. He used the word drugs like 50 times during my consultation. I swear my doctor uses nitrous inbetween appointments and consultations. However, I was sold on getting my wisdom teeth removed right after he mentioned valium. So since i have some anxiety going into this procedure my doctor percribed me some valium before the appointment and I am going to be hooked up to the nitrous tank so I will let you all know about my great experience. I am definitely looking forward to the drugs and the vicodin afterwards but I wish they would give me that stuff without taking my wisdom teeth. Let me tell you this kids the term tooth fairy has a completely different meaning at the age of 25. the tooth fairy is now the doctor and instead of finding money under the pillow you find yourself hooked up to some nitrous oxide on the patient bed at the doctors office. Well since wisdom tooth extraction is a serious procedure and incase I don't make it I wanted you all to know this blog is perfect for all of you to grieve. I will be here in spirit, so make sure to write nice things about me from this point on...I will still continue to check the blog. (and no I am not on any drugs right now) So pray for me and pray that I have a speedy recovery.

Resident Alien Card Please??
I know this post is jumping towards the end of my first trip ever to mexico. So after me and wendy keep grabbing our back pockets every 2 1/2 seconds for 4 hours in mexico to make sure we still had our ID's we finally arrive at the American border. This is after getting in and out of one cab about 3 times in a matter of 2 minutes only because we all wanted to make sure we all had a bad feeling about the cab we were getting in and out of. So randeep goes through the american border perfectly fine then my turn comes up and the border agent asks me so where's your green card? And i am trying to convince myself that i am born in america and i was so busy trying to convince myself i almost forgot I was born in oregon. so it came to me and I laughed and i still felt as if I was lying so i felt the urge to tell him Eugene, oregon so it would sound more convincing...weird isn't it when this type of stuff happens...why must i try to convince myself with the truth...i know my post probably makes no sense at all but you have to undesrtand I am running on no sleep for the past 24 hours and still recovering from being in fight or flight mode while still managing to be super paranoid.

Story #1
LeMans InDoor Karting
Harjot((indian)) Kulvir((indian)) Chris((philips)) Anthony((hybrid)) Jeremy((white)) David((black hybrid))
March 30th 6pm
All of us decided today was a great day to go kart racing, so we followed through on plans. We drove about two miles up and out of milpitas on warm springs and arrived at some company complex. Before you knew it we were out on the race track. All of us were equipped with racing gear; neck braces, helmets, and gloves. And finnally we got the go , to go race from the manager. This is when my horror began.
Things were fine we raced and raced, well atleast for the first few minutes. The people at LeMans Racing had about 12,000 rules and those rules were strictly applied. There were about three employees scattered through the 1/4 mile track, there sole purpose was to dictate the race. These fuckers had a variety of flags they would pull out for a variety of reasons. The reason that fucked with me most was the BLACK FLAG. Anytime some Rudy POO raised a black FLAG meant you had to goto the pits, and get punked by the manager.
The first time I went to the pits was very understandable, i spun out anf delayed racing. This 'suspension' was okay with me. The second time i got locked up was for supposedly passing a car when the YELLOW LIGHTS WERE ON. I never passed a fucking car when the yellow lights were on lol. BUt, you know how the story goes, i ended up in the pits.
Now im in the pits for the 2nd time. The manager is telling me "Hey kid, i know you can race. BUt you got one lAST WARNING if you MESS UP you are out, since that will be your 3rd BLACKKKKKKKK FLAG". I told him "hey bro, they aint getting the calls right". Im not one to complain much, but it was like what the fuck beyond what the fuck! Now im back on the race track , driving like a fuckin pansy because i was like barely into the racing session and already was near extinction.
Yup, I got the third FLAG. Some weird beeezy points me out of the pack of cars while waving the evil black flag and says, "hey, get in the Pits". Now this time the manager says " DUDE, COME ON, stop bumping". IM like thinking to myself WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON HERE? I barely bumped the wall, and here I am again getting roasted. I then begain to tell him my story about how I felt. He bought it, he shouldve and the racing resumed for me. WHen i got back the employees were in shock! The look on there face said" WHAT THE FUCK IS HE DOING BACK". I was just sitting back in my car like yea bitches, even though they had me drivng like a bitch through all the harrassment. All the cars were passing me up :( LOL...and im like FUCKKKKKKKKKK WHAT THE HELL!!!! Then KULVIR AND JEREMY PASSED ME UP......i was like OK LETS GOOO....I figured they wont punk me , if i drive along with these guys. I was right behind kulvir for about 1/8 of a mile.
Now im right behind Kulvir!!!! His car is fish tailing everywhereeeee and i'm like thinking to myself 'fuck put this guy in the pits'. LOL. ;) Next thing you know while im tailgating him , HE SPINS OUT ON HIS OWN, and I HIT HIM because his car got in my path. Guess what happend????
FOURTH MOTHERUCKIN BLACK FLAGG FOR ME!!!! At this point im driving into the pits..thinking WHAT THE FUCKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!! I parked my fast car in the parking spot and immediately spoke to the manager. He said "Whats going on man?". I Said " i DONT KNOW MAN , HE SPUN OUT I HIT HIM , AND NOW IM OUT HERE". He said "Hey bro, before you take off your helmet go race some more". He then cussed out his crew on the walkie talkies and told them to chill the fuck outtt and start getting the calls right. This was a huge relief, and i enjoyed the next 2 minutes of racing.
Since everyone else seemed to have had an above average expierence, I decided I will give the place another shot some other time. Im interested in having a good time, lol , not a wack time. This will officially be the first "TRIED SO HARD" post. All suggestions and comments are welcome!
Love
Harjottt
