EDIT: so here's my first real entry...most of you already know this story but for those of you who don't.

The Day That We Almost Died for A 'La Vics' Burrito

So after Seema's birthday party last Saturday (it was almost 2am), me sukhdeep and randeep decided to go to La Vics to get some burritos because our appetites were just not satisfied with the food from earlier. we tell sukhdeep to wait in the car and me and randeep go inside. the line is pretty long and it goes all the way outside. and the security guard who is always posted out there tries to maintain order for all the drunk and hungrey people. we continue "moving on up" and finally order. since there were so many people randeep waited in front by the counter with our number while i stood in the back waiting for her to get our delicious delicious burritos. [[a little caveat here: for those who can't picture this well enough-- we were at the la vics by jack in the box and sjsu; there were about 50-60 drunk people crammed in the tiny house the size of large living room after all the clubs downtown had let out. end caveat]]

THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN..i hear what seems to be GUNSHOTS! everyone looks out the window and says someone got shot! someone got shot! some people begin to duck while others rush to the window. i look out the window from where i am standing i see about 4-5 guys running REALLY fast across the street and away from jack in the box towards the street bidu had parked the car. i stand there for a while like duhh..what just happened. then i rush towards randeep and yell WENDY! WENDY! my attempts were in vain because she was unable to hear me over her great anticipation of la vics burritos. i get closer to her and say WENDY! someone just got shot! shes says "whaaaat!? i hope i still get my burrito!" i nodded in agreement. i stood next to her when all of a sudden someone rushes in and says GET ON THE GROUND! GET ON THE FUCKIN GROUND! randeep was no longer concerned about devouring her burrito...she yells "WHO IS THAT!? who is that?! are we being held hostage!?" i reassure her that it is only the security guard as we, along with the rest of the hungrey people, lay on the floor of la vics. "TURN OFF THE LIGHTS! TURN OFF THE LIGHTS NOW!" says the security guard (i dont' understand why he did this but maybe bullets can't find us in the dark?) as we await further instructions on the floor, me and randeep really want our burritos and i text bidu to be careful and have a litte conversation with her on the phone. after a while people start to get up and the security guard says we're shutting this place down and everyone who already ordered needs to get their food and leave. YES! we get to get our burritos. we waited a little longer and got our burritos after others tried to get ahead of us...good ol' number system helped rid that problem. and we finally joined sukhdeep in the car. then we ate our burritos once we reached a safe area! YAY!
